I am a war veteran with complex PTSD. I was recommended to DYWC from another local psychologist for trauma therapy. I spent 10 sessions with my therapist working specifically on my combat related PTSD. I can now sleep without having nightmares and my panic attacks are fewer. Thank you for helping me.
Male 39 years old (2016)
Depression and anxiety have been struggles of mine since I
was a teenager. I have tried several therapists with little success in
establishing a rapport. My therapist at DYWC and I connected from day one. She is thoughtful and kind during sessions and mindful to keep up with me in between sessions as well. I confidently recommend her as a therapist for those struggling.
Female 38 years old (2016)
I have been a patient of DYWC's for 2 years. I have been in therapy on and off for 17 years. My experience with my therapist is by far the best I have had. She has helped me to better understand myself. I have learned the ways that my mind works and strategies that I can use to overcome emotional struggles. Due to my career, I can only come for therapy at certain times. My therapist goes out of her way to make sure that she can accommodate my schedule. She treats me with the utmost respect and honestly cares about me and my happiness. When I leave my session, I always feel a million times better than when I arrived. I will continue to see her for all of my therapy needs for as long as she is in practice.
(Female, 31 years old – 2018)
About 9 months ago I sought help with issues that had taken place over 34 years ago in my life. These issues manifested themselves once again within my family, and I was devastated. Since my time working with DYWC, my therapist has guided the process in helping me put these issues into perspective and to deal with the trauma in a healthy way. My time with my therapist here at DYWC has literally changed and saved my life.
(Male, 49 years old – 2018)
About a year ago, I decided to seek some help to learn how to deal with my anxiety and my trouble to adjust to a life change I was going through. As I was looking for a counselor, I came across two of them. I decided to give DYWC a try first, and I am glad I did. My therapist is continuously helping me discover myself, regain confidence, and adjust to a more normal life. When you are talking to her, you feel like you are talking to a friend. She is very professional, compassionate, and logical in her method of treating you. I cannot recommend her enough. I will probably, keep coming back even when I don't need to, just because she makes you feel comfortable.
(Male, 33 years old – 2018)
I met my therapist at DYWC upon my discharge from a hospitalization stay related to my depression. I was nervous and uncertain about how to move forward. She has years of experience that she uses to teach others about the process of counseling. It wasn't easy asking for help, but my therapist never made me feel embarrassed or ashamed. I am thankful my psychiatrist recommended her to me. I will continue working with her while I am on this path to heal.

About 9 months ago I knew I need professional help as I faced some difficult decisions regarding my marriage. In the quiet and still comfort of DYWC's office, my counselor helped guide me through the process. He consistently remembers the important things I tell him and he shows compassion when daring to ask tough questions. My time with him has been invaluable.

It was simply a great relief to be able to speak openly and honestly about the difficult and sensitive subject of sexuality. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had a positive experience in therapy. I am now in a happy, loving and meaningful relationship. This is a wonderful credit to the work I did with DYWC.
