Is there something holding you back from the experience of feeling fully alive, safe, and satisfied in your own life; in your own skin. Life can be incredibly challenging, it can make us feel unmotivated, depressed, anxious, overwhelmed and at times, desperate. Experiencing internal and external difficulties long enough and under enough stress, we become disconnected to what makes life worth living. I believe my job is to provide a safe space and be a supportive, caring, non-judgmental presence as a guide and collaborator in our sessions. Together we can face what is hurting or not helping you.
I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from California State University. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was an educator, and that experience has helped to shape my clinical perspective. I have a clinical interest in working with children that have complex learning, social and/or emotional needs. I’m a trained hospice and grief counselor and I have knowledge on the topics of infertility and adoption. In addition to these specific areas I also see clients with depression, anxiety, life transitions, personality differences and ones that might be living with the symptoms from previous traumatic events.
My therapy work is eclectic and holistic. I take a psychodynamic and person-centered approach that focuses on somatic experiencing and attachment. I incorporate interventions or tools from CBT, DBT, solution-focused, psychodrama, and mindfulness therapies. Most importantly, I work collaboratively with each client to uncover the best and most supportive path forward for healing.
